Playing your old games on a new generation console is a big deal in the quiet months after launch, if there aren’t many new titles to justify the hundreds of dollars you spent on a shiny new machine. . Sony and Microsoft knew this when they launched their PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X last year, both showcasing the backwards compatible features of their consoles.
